Hollins Tithe Barn is a sixteenth-century barn on a working Derbyshire farm. Ceremony and dinner for up to 140, an orchard, nine bedrooms across the courtyard, and the whole place to yourselves until midnight.
Ceremony and dinner for 140, nine bedrooms and music till midnight.
The barn
Hollins was a tithe barn, where the parish brought its tenth of the crop. The oak trusses went up in 1584 and have not moved since.
Inside there is nothing to hide: two-foot stone walls, a flagged floor and a roof you could lose a string quartet in. We do not dress it up. We light it, with candles, and then we get out of your way.
You have the whole farm for the weekend. No second wedding in the courtyard, no stranger at the bar, and nobody asking you to wrap up early.

A day at Hollins
Cars park in the paddock, jackets come off in the courtyard, and there is elderflower and something stronger while the farm cat inspects everyone's shoes.
One hundred and forty seats under the oak trusses, a registrar from the council, and doors that open onto the orchard when it is time to walk out.
Long grass, old apple trees and the afternoon light your photographer has been waiting for. Canapés come out as the sun goes down behind the ridge.
The barn is reset while you are outside. Long tables, linen, and several hundred candles lit by us, not by you. Speeches over pudding, so nobody eats cold food.
Evening guests arrive to a lit courtyard. The tables go, the floor opens, and the barn becomes the one room in Derbyshire where everyone dances.
Music runs to midnight under our late licence. After that, the courtyard lanterns, a short walk across to the shippon and a very quiet field.
The spaces

Ceremony, dinner and dancing under 400 years of oak. Underfloor heating and two wood burners, so January is as good as June.

Drinks, photographs and, weather permitting, an outdoor ceremony among apple and damson trees.

Festoon lights, a fire pit and the cobbles everyone ends up on at 11pm.

The old cowshed, converted into nine bedrooms. Breakfast the morning after is included, and the walk up to the edge is five minutes.
What a date costs
Venue hire is set by the day you pick, not by your guest list. Prices include VAT and service: no service charge is added at the end, and nothing is hidden in the small print.

Frost outside, a wood burner and four hundred candles inside. The barn did the rest.

One long table, a lot of candles, and Gareth's nan still dancing at midnight.
My dad walked in, looked up at the roof and said nothing for a full minute. For him, that is a standing ovation.Imogen, married 12 June 2026
Come and see it
Viewings last 90 minutes, come with tea and something from the farm kitchen, and carry no pressure and no pushy follow-up emails. Bring your parents. They will want to see the roof.
