Accessibility Statement
Accessibilitystatement.
We want everyone to be able to use this website. This statement says what we aimed for, what we checked, and where we know it falls short.
Our aim
This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. It is a demonstration site for a fictional practice, built by Kirosconsult, and this statement was prepared on 2 October 2026.
What we checked
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus ring, and a skip link goes straight to the main content.
- Text and controls meet the contrast ratios (4.5 to 1 for body text, 3 to 1 for large text and interface parts) in both the light and the dark theme. You can switch theme with the button in the header, or leave it to follow your device.
- Pages reflow to a single column at narrow widths and stay usable when text is enlarged to 200%, with no sideways scrolling.
- Touch targets are at least 44 by 44 pixels.
- Form fields have visible labels, errors appear next to the field and are announced, and nothing is sent anywhere.
- Motion is switched off when your device is set to reduce motion. Nothing flashes.
- Every image has a text description, and decorative drawings are hidden from screen readers.
Interactive parts and how to use them without a mouse
- Shade guide and whitening slider (home page). This is a standard slider. Use the left and right arrow keys, Home and End. The shade name is read out as it changes.
- Before and after comparison. Also a standard slider, with the same keys.
- Smile Plan. Each treatment is a checkbox, the tooth counts are buttons, and payment terms are radio buttons. The total and monthly cost are announced politely when they change.
Known gaps
- The Smile Plan needs JavaScript to recalculate. Without it, the page shows the default example only, and the price list above it remains complete.
- The map is an illustration. The text directions beside it carry the same information, but the drawing itself is not a navigable map.
- We have tested with a keyboard, a screen reader on a phone, zoom and reduced motion. We have not carried out a full audit by an independent specialist.
- Third-party links, such as the CQC and GDC websites, are outside our control.
